Lighthouse Route

If you’re looking for a longer ride with changing scenery, this is a good option for you.

Ride through the country to beautiful Lighthouse County Park and view the historic Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse. Return on winding, scenic shoreline roads. Stop in Grindstone City for a bite to eat or some ice cream.

Other Trails

 

Port Crescent Trail

If you’re looking to hike or swim on your ride, this is a great choice for you.

You’ll take country dirt roads to a historic cemetery and continue on to the Huron County Nature Center trail and/or the hiking Trails at Port Crescent State Park before returning back to Port Austin.

If you want to grab a bite to eat on your adventure stop by Dark Sky Lodge & Tavern, located between the Port Crescent Day Use Park & Campground…right on the trailhead for the Steel Bridge hiking trail with access to a sandy beach

Country Roads Loops 1&2

The locals might call this a “crop tour”, but that also has other connotations in our area. #askafarmer

Once you leave the village, you’ll be on country dirt roads with good chances to catch some local wildlife like deer, wild turkeys, raptors, and more. It’s also a great opportunity to see some local farms in operation.

Loop #1 is approximately 5 miles - 8 km

Loop #2 is approximately 8.5 miles - 13.5 km

 

Grindstone City Trail

An intermediate route that takes you to the newly renovated Grindstone City Harbor and Eagle Bay lake access.
